Who Are We?

Like most people, I like to know who the breeder is before I decide whether or not to purchase an animal from them, especially if that animal is going to be a future breeder for me. So, I find it only fair that I introduce myself, and introduce who is behind Guzman Boers and Angus.

My name is Jose, and I am one of the founders of Guzman Boers And Angus. Guzman Boers And Angus is a family owned business that focuses on breeding commercial and registered Boer Goats (and some Alpine Dairy Goats) and whom is looking to expand to Black Angus Cattle in the near future.

We are locals to Monterey County and have been for 30+ years. We have consistently been raising Boer Goat Crosses as a family for the past 15 years, but we have only recently changed our focus to producing and raising registered Boer Goats and focusing on raising “breeders” instead of purely market goats.

We have had a passion for raising these goats, as well as other farm animals, for as long as I can remember. So much so, that I always knew I wanted to focus my career within agriculture and attended school at CalPoly San Luis Obispo and graduated with a BS degree in 2017. I currently do work within the agriculture industry and help run Guzman Boers And Angus on the side.

We have been fortunate enough to meet and know a lot of reputable Boer Goat Breeders within California. From them, we have gained knowledge, as well as amazing breeding stock that we have used as the fundamental breeding blocks for our program.

Within the next 5-10 years, our goals are to continue to expand our registered herd, establish a reputation for producing quality, hardy, meaty Boer Goats, and begin adding registered Black Angus Cattle. We hope our knowledge and experience in the industry will propel us to reach these goals in the near future.

Going forward, if you would like to know more about us and how we run our operation, we encourage you check out our Youtube Channel – GuzmanBoersAndAgus. On our channel, we open up and show our viewers exactly how we raise our goats, and we provide behind the scenes on how and why we make the decisions that we do.

With that, we thank you for considering supporting/purchasing/following our journey on producing high quality livestock animals.
